PAY IT FORWARD

Today my boyfriend Tom and I experienced that rare genuine human kindness that has the power to spread warmth and happiness through people's lives.

We stopped by our local town centre to pick up some birthday cards. We pulled into the near-empty car park and were in the process of paying the £1.50 for our pay and display ticket when a man walked past us on the way to his car. He offered us his ticket which was valid for the rest of the day, no questions asked, out of pure kindness.

Beaming from experiencing such genuine generosity, we vowed to try and pay the man's good deed forward, just like in the 2000 film 'Pay It Forward' starring Haley Joel Osment. So, as we left the car park, we offered our ticket to a woman who was about to purchase her own. We left feeling extremely warm-hearted to have made the woman smile.

It's amazing how much happiness simple good deeds can bring. So, if you are lucky enough to experience a deed of such true kindness, I encourage you to pay it forward and feel the happiness it brings you. X

FLOWER POWER

As you may have seen from my previous posts, I like to make paper flowers. Below is my latest creation, a white rose with a soft green tint. Underneath is the rose with a selection of giant gerberas. I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them! X

MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BAKER...

I made these blueberry and raspberry muffins for a very dear friend's 50th birthday last week. I've been told they went down a treat! Recipe to follow on my recipes page. X

A BRIGHTER BOSTON

With news of the horror unleashed in Boston this week leaving heavy hearts across the globe, I felt I should post my own tribute to Boston and the wonderful Bostonian people. In 2010 I had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic city, and can honestly say that Boston is home to some of the most polite and genuinely friendly and welcoming people I have ever met. This week's news of the bombings which tragically took the lives of three people and changed the lives of hundreds more has left me deeply saddened, but instead of dwelling on the horrific images that have haunted the press for the last 6 days, I thought I would post some pictures of Boston in happier times - the vibrant Boston which captured my heart. NAILS, NAILS, NAILS!

The first glimpses of sunshine in rainy old England this week got me all excited for bright coloured nails! This Essie polish in 'Status Symbol' just screams spring. Love it. x
